Another ASUU Strike Looms As Lecturers Accuse FG Of Deception



Barely two months after the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), called off its nearly-six-month strike, the Nigerian university system may soon be thrown into another round of crisis.

ASUU yesterday, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, alerted the nation of an alleged non-compliance by the Federal Government with the agreement signed between both parties, last December, prior to ASUU’s decision to call off the industrial action.

I stumbled on this write-up few hours ago and since then, its thoughts has left a positive and uplifting footprint on my mind so I decided to share it.

We've heard the phrase "one of a kind" said about many things, but this extensively justifies the phrase. Lekan as he is fondly called by friends and family lost his father in the year 2000 and his mother three years after, he has since then developed a passion for orphan children seeing as he himself  has lived through the pain and the tears of orphan-hood. There are children that are totally suffering in their mind worlds and in the real world, basically due to neglect.

Nollywood star Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has become a brand ambassador for Ghandour Cosmetics Ltd.

The gorgeous actress signed the deal, reportedly worth millions, at the Protea Hotel in Lagos.

According to the report, Omotola will represent BO-16, one of the Ghanaian company's hair relaxer and hair care ranges.

Wole Soyinka's Daughter (Iyetade) Dies At UCH Ibadan


Daughter of Nobel Prize winner Wole Soyinka, Iyetade Soyinka has passed on at the age of 48. Mrs. Soyinka, who was born June 6, 1965, died at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital where she was being treated for an undisclosed ailment.

Iheanacho's Manchester City Move Collapses, FC Porto His Likely Destination?


Despite being released from the home based Super Eagles camp to sign for Manchester City in England, it has been revealed to us that Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to sign with the former English champions.

Kennedy Ezenwere, Kelechi Iheanacho's mentor and coach at the Taye Academy he played for in Owerri, Imo state, revealed that Kelechi is presently in Lagos, and has decided to move to FC Porto in Portugal, rather than Manchester City.

Nigeria can begin rice exportation in 2014 – Official




Mr Olusegun Olatokun, the acting Director-General of the National Agricultural Seeds Council, said on Thursday that Nigeria had the capacity to begin rice exportation in 2014.

Olatokun told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that with the Federal Government’s plan to ban rice importation in 2014, the country had no choice but to take advantage of its potential in rice production in furtherance of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda.

As ASUU Calls off strike: State Varsities May Not Resume – Senior Lecturer BSU

The nearly six-month old strike embarked upon by Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) may continue in some state universities as the national body of the association has just been suspended.

It will be recalled that the Federal Government and ASUU signed an agreement recently to facilitate end to the industrial action that has paralysed the nation’s public universities.

Report reaching Myschool from Minna, Niger State capital, indicates that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has called off its five months strike.

The Union arrived at the latest decision to suspends its strike after a marathon meeting held at the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, Niger State on Monday.
