What's Device Software and why does it matter which version I have?
Device Software is what your BlackBerry smartphone relies on to do basic tasks, like email management and synchronization of your address book and calendar. Sometimes it's called "firmware." This Device Software is also used to add and remove software applications. Because of this, it's critical that you have the latest version of Device Software installed.
